Follow on Google News | The Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Association petition hit 81,000 signatures this monthWho is holding back the HR969 and S681? When did Chairmen gain more power than the President?
By: The BWNVVA Can a bill (HR969) be held hostage by a Chairman of a committee? Looks like Chairman Miller of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs is doing just that. Here we have a government by the people, for the people, but only when Chairman Miller says so. The majority of the House (333 Representatives) In the Senate Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veteran's Affairs, Senator Isakson is doing the same thing. Last year Senator Isakson said he would bring S681 to the Senate floor for a vote. So far no vote, so far no mention of a vote. There are 43 Senators co sponsoring the bill and more committed to pass this legislation. Where's the vote? Invenimus in hoste etiam diligamus, censuit eos (We have met the enemy, we voted for them!). I took an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Didn't Chairman Miller and Isakson swear the same thing? Could it be that 70,000 Veterans are the enemy? Here are some comments from the petitioners themselves. Joy Meola our government could care less about our vets. We owe everything we have to them! God bless all our VETS John Thompson Maybe the Secertary should have to stand in line and wait the long times that we have to see doctors.Who cares about Daiseyland. They did not mind asking us to man up and go fight for our country. We need to clean house and start over ·Thomas Michael Mattingly On the USS Kitty Hawk, we could rub our palms on the sides of the fuselage of the planes, which were covered with Agent Orange vapor. Ed Ball · Institute of Medicine states that if Blue Water Navy ships received water inport (docked), they would be eligible to presumptive exposure to Agent Orange for that date. We've proven that Navy Water Barges (YW), via Commander Naval Forces declassified Monthly Summaries, provided millions of gallons of water to ships at anchorange inport as well. Water came from an open water reservoir on Monkey Mountain that would have been contaminated due to Spray Mist. Ships operating in Market Time and or Naval Gunfire Support missions, in close proximity ashore ran their water distillation plants up and down the coast, Navy instructions show that the water was not tested for dioxin, but due to flooding during monsoons, tides, and currents, we know it was there. Institute of Medicine states any dioxin in the shipboard Water Distillation plants would have been "enriched", creating a much stronger dosage while sailors, drank, prepared their food, washed their dishes, did laundry, bathed, brushed their teeth, and washed down their aircraft in the stuff. We need your support! Tell Congress to bring H.R. 969 and S.681 out of their respective Veteran Affairs Committees, and get them on the floor for debate and a vote today! Marie A Buchner · Husband in the Navy 66-70. Was aboard the USS FRANK E EVANS, DD754 stationed off the coast of Vietnam. Denied benefits for diabetes. He and all of his shipmates should get benefits for AGENT ORANGE. They were there and they were exposed. AGENT ORANGE was in the water that the ship used for cooking, bathing etc. These men have been waiting since the 60's for compenstation. They are sick and dying. How much longer must they wait?? ·Harry Althen I am a Vietnam Veteran Ihave been waiting for the VA to decide my Appeal for Agent Orange for 5 Years now they still have not even though I have sent them proof that I was in Da Nang Harbor Three times on the USS Mattaponi AO-41 but they still are dragging their feet as usual Those wanting to participate in the Petition should click or copy and paste this URL: https://www.change.org/ End
