Bob Mayo & Barry Spillberg of Wargasm to Appear on WEMF's Deathkiss Radio Show

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Aug. 11, 2016 - PRLog -- Weekly WEMF radio show, Deathkiss Presented by Pino Bros. Ink, will have a jam-packed metal jaw-boning session when host Mary Frances Church is joined by special guest host Randy Carter, lead vocalist of Swarm of Eyes, at 7 P.M. EST on Friday August 26, 2016. Together, they will chat with Bob Mayo and Barry Spillberg of Wargasm, discussing the band's past, present, and future.

"I am beyond excited to have Bob and Barry join us on Deathkiss," said the show's host, Mary Frances Church. "Wargasm are Boston metal legends and have been a major influence for so many current metal bands. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to interview them live on WEMF and devote a whole show to this legendary band."

Formed in 1982, the band released their debut album Why Play Around?, featuring Spillberg on drums, his brother Rich on guitar, and lead vocalist Mayo. The thrash trio disbanded in 1995 and have played sporadically ever since.

In 2008, Wargasm released a live DVD of their reunion concert – a show benefitting the charitable Rawkstars organization that provides free instruments and musical education for children. In 2015, they released the full-length disc, Satan Stole My Lunch Money, along with a live album. This year, they re-released their 1993 album, Ugly, with bonus tracks and new liner notes by Bob Mayo.

A long-time fan of Wargasm, Carter explained that, "doing this show with Mary is special for me because I've looked up to these guys since the late '80s as local heroes. They're arguably the greatest metal band to ever come out of Boston."

Carter's one-night stint on the show follows on the heels of Swarm of Eyes' guest appearance on Deathkiss in July. The fun-filled hour of metal and mirth included Mary Frances grilling the band about their origins on the New England metal scene, their debut album, and upcoming EP, We Go to War With the Weapons We Have.
