Season Tickets Available for 2016-17 Season of Waukesha Choral Union

 
WAUKESHA, Wis. - Aug. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- Season Tickets for the 2016-2017 season of Waukesha Choral Union performances now are available online (www.choralunion.org), through Waukesha State Bank locations and from Choral Union members.

    Ticket prices for four concerts are $40 for adults ($15 per concert), $32 for seniors over 60 ($13 per concert), $20 for students $8 per concert) and $10 for youth under 12 ($4 per concert).

         Waukesha Choral Union is celebrating its 43nd season of bringing fine music to the community. WCU's season - long theme of "From the Heart, For the Soul," includes collaborations with area choral groups, two Christmas concerts and a blend of sacred, traditional and popular music. WCU again this year will perform two concerts at Carroll University.

   Concerts are scheduled for October, December, March and May, held at various church and academic settings. The schedule includes:

Together As One, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 145 Lisbon Rd., Oconomowoc. WCU will perform arrangements from Yehezkel Braun's "Seven Sephardic Romances" and choral excerpts from "Elijah," by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. WCU welcomes Kettle Moraine High school's Chamber Choir and Chamber Chorus Singers from Waukesha North High School. The combined choirs will perform "Turn the World Around" by Harry Belafonte and Richard Freedman.

Carols Old & New, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 at St. Catherine of Alexandria, W359 N5848 Brown St., Oconomowoc. Variety of deep-rooted and familiar carols including those of the 16th Century, Shakespeare's Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind," "Carol of the Bells, "Gloria" and much more. Includes an audience sing-a-long.

A German Requiem, 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Carroll University's Shattuck Music Center, 218 N. East Ave., Waukesha. Presenting the renowned work by Johannes Brahms is WCU joined by Jubilate Chorale, Hartford Community chorus, East Troy Community Chorus and independent community singers.

Nights To Remember, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Carroll University's Humphrey Chapel/Art Center, 238 N. East Ave., Waukesha. Featuring "It's a Grand Night For Singing" by Rodgers and Hammerstein, "Noche Serena" by Randall Stroope and other nocturnal delights.
