Follow on Google News | Natasha Hastings brings home Gold from the 2016 Olympics in Rio De JaneiroNatasha Hastings secured Team USA a Gold Medal in the 4x400-meter relay
20 years later the stand out athlete qualified for the first time to run in the 400 meter individual and secured a spot on the 4x400-meter relay team. However this key milestone wasn't accomplished easily. Hastings had her fair share of struggles in her sport, among those were: Not doing as well as she would have liked in 2008, not qualifying for the Olympics in 2012, her age and of course her hamstring injury this year. It is those obstacles, those second-guesses, those hard times that have shaped her into the person and the athlete she is today. Hastings, also called the 400 Meter Diva is the epitome of mental toughness. Even though she came in fourth in the final of the 400 meter individual and therefore missed a spot on the podium, she didn't lose her faith that gold was still attainable in the 4x400-meter relay. On the contrary Hastings redirected her focus and used her disappointment as fuel to secure gold alongside team mates Allyson Felix, Courtney Okolo and Phyllis Francis in an outstanding time of 3:19 before Jamaica and Great Britain. This time around Natasha Hastings received quite some attention for her pleasing physical appearance. Natasha who often was bullied for her athletic built wants to send out a two-part message to the public and especially young girls: First, to show up presentable and professional to your place of work. Second, to embrace being a woman, no matter what size and shape! For press and business inquiries contact sschirru@dynamicallybpr.com.
