She is also an avid volunteer with Brethren Disaster Ministries, which served the people of Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina. Mary's writing has appeared in the following publications: What Do You Call an Ant? illustrator Sandra Reed is Mary Mueller's sister and a published artist, whose work has appeared in the Voices from the Ledges (Grand Ledge Michigan, 2013).
