BPW International Celebrates 86 Anniversary With A Wear Yellow Campaign

Aug. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- The International Federation of Business and Professional Women has announced a 'wear yellow' campaign in celebration of the founding of the federation 86 years ago.

As part of the campaign, women and BPW members all over the world are encouraged to wear yellow outfits and their BPW Pin on 26 August 2016. They can then snap a photo and upload it onto social media platforms using the hashtag #BPWDay.

President of the Federation, Yasmin Darwich, said, "It could be a yellow outfit or it could be accessories like scarfs, earrings, shoes, anything, as long as it's yellow! We also want our members to wear the BPW Pin to celebrate BPW Day."

The Federation was founded on 26 August 1930, by the late Lena Madesin Phillips who had started a national movement to unite and organise all women who had a business or a profession. The vision was to empower women to be able to mould public opinion, set new working standards, improve economic and industrial conditions, and lay enduring foundations for peace for the benefit of all mankind.

Today, BPW International is an influential international network of business and professional women and has members and affiliates in 95 countries, over five continents. The Federation is highly respected for its opinions and views, and is recognised for its consultative status on various United Nations women issues.

Head of Marketing, BPW International, Sandra D'Souza shared that "BPW is very excited about the wear yellow campaign and is looking forward to the fabulous outfits by BPW Members and all who wants to join in our celebrations."

"So far, responses have been fantastic. Many members from all over have been expressing their delight at the campaign and are already looking forward to 26 August. Some have even started sharing photos of them in yellow!" says D'Souza.

"We want to celebrate BPW Day and our 86 Anniversary by proudly wearing our colour, yellow, to make 26 August 2016 a meaningful and memorable day" said Darwich.
