In order to assist SMEs to meet food safety requirements, an important project is being undertaken by TUV India Pvt Ltd under the development partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. This program is implemented in the framework of the develop PPP.de initiative and co funded by German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The main objective of the project is "To improve Food Safety Hygiene and Product Quality in the Indian Food Processing Sector". The project objective is to improve awareness, knowledge and training opportunities regarding food safety standards and tools for the implementation of food safety management systems among Indian food processing SMEs, industrial associations and regulatory bodies. To achieve the objectives, the project has been phased in to various stages: - Curtain Raiser - Train the Trainer - ISO 22000:2005 Implementation Workshops - Training for Internal Quality Auditors - Guidance to set up Food Safety Management Syste - Best Practices Forum SMEs from food sectors such as : Snacks & Sweets, Spices, Bakery & Confectionery, Processed Food, Meat Processing and Animal Casing, have been benefited the most, with participation in all the above programes at nominal registration charges. To conclude this project, TUV India Pvt. Ltd. in association with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and The Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (India) ( AFST(I)) has organized the Best Practices Forum to be held on 27th September, 2016 .
