ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Sept. 13, 2016 - PRLog -- GOTV celebrated the launch of "The April Simpson Show" with an invitation-only Exclusive VIP Reception, September 12 at GOTV's Production Studios.

Featuring former Fox2 news personality April Simpson, the show highlights the talents of St. Louisans and artists from around the country. As co-owner, executive producer, and host of her show, Simpson is breaking down barriers for women in television.

Highlights for the reception were the focus on GOTV's partnership with national personalities, such as special guest Leon Isaac Kennedy, a Hollywood Executive and former actor. Kennedy will partner with GOTV by introducing and bringing film projects to "The April Simpson Show." Kennedy is also partners with Motown legend Smokey Robinson on the new cosmetic line, Skinphonic, which was formally announced as a show sponsor. GOTV will serve as the exclusive outlet in St. Louis for Skinphonic. As an avid hockey fan, Simpson is also proud to include the St. Louis Blues as an additional sponsor of her show.

Featuring original programming, documentaries and films, GOTV's commitment to cultivating the best in local talent allows area filmmakers a venue to showcase their work to untapped audiences. The channel also boasts the largest independent made-for-television music format in the world. GOTV connects local independent creators to their own unique platform and puts them in front of an ever-expanding audience.

Another highlight of GOTV's programming is its partnership with multi-platinum hip-hop artist Chingy, who is producing "Put Me On," a music video program that allows musicians to upload their videos directly to mygotvmusic.com (http://mygotvmusic.com/wp/). Chingy will select the videos to be shown allowing St. Louis' next stars the chance to be discovered.

Additional original GOTV content includes programs such as: The Loop, a fictional sitcom to be filmed in The Delmar Loop by award-winning filmmaker Dan Byington with area actors, writers and producers; Brain Dead and Cooking, a cooking show from Pirate Pictures featuring acclaimed St. Louis chefs and their kitchen tips for a busy lifestyle; and the suspense series "Sunshine," a modern-day Scarface set in St. Louis with a female lead, is being produced by House of Values Productions.
