We are pleased to welcome the entire community to this party! "

SMTRC will host a gala at the Chippanee Country Club on 6 Marsh Road, Bristol, Conn. from 6-11pm on

Oct. 1, 2016.  Prior to the gala, the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 5:15pm at the SMTRC farm.  After the ceremony and dinner, attendees can bid at the silent auction and dance the evening away to the sounds of Major Motion Band (www.majormotionband.com). Gala tickets are $100 per ticket with proceeds going toward the arena improvements and ensuring the veteran equine therapy program continues.

"Shepard Meadows has been a part of the Bristol community for many years. As we continue to expand the farm, we are focusing on helping our veterans with PTSD or TBI.  Our gala, the new arena and all of our community fund-raising events are directed to helping service members reintegrate," said Patricia Fournier, SMTRC vice president and event chairperson.  "I am very proud of our work supporting veterans and encourage the entire community to buy a ticket for the 'Celebration of New Beginnings' gala."

Located on 26 acres of open meadows, SMTRC is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) premier accredited riding center.  As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization,  SMTRC operates seven days per week and is located at 733 Hill Road, Bristol, Conn.  In 2012, SMTRC teamed with the Bristol Veterans Council and the Rocky Hill Veteran's Center to start a program that provides equine-therapy for veterans.  Additionally, SMTRC continues to provide local residents therapy-focused riding activities as well as riding lessons.
