Hermes-Sojitz Fund Expands Its Boutique Hotel Chain in Italy

Sept. 15, 2016 - PRLog -- Hermes-Sojitz Fund has announced the launch of a boutique hotel chain in the Northern Italy: 17 luxury hotels encompassing 25 to 50 rooms each. The grand opening is planned for late 2017. The Fund has decided on a selection of the real estate items to become hotels. The new boutique hotels will be commissioned stage-by-stage. 10 real estate items in the north of Italy are currently under construction, and Hermes-Sojitz is looking for new pieces to fit the puzzle.

Naoki Matsumura, Chairman of Hermes-Sojitz's Board of Directors, says that the company is planning to create a large chain of boutique hotels. At this stage the Fund is on the lookout for unique real estate in Italy, particularly in its northern part. Old palazzos and ready-made boutique hotels supporting the overall concept are of main interest for Hermes-Sojitz.

A number of major international hotel chain operators express their interest in the project. But it still remains unclear, what will be the brand of this boutique hotel chain. Naoki Matsumura notes that the tourist and commercial appeal of the project is mainly due to its location nearby the world famous resorts of France and Switzerland: Courchevel, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc and St. Moritz, as well as the fashion capital Milan.

Boutique hotels are often opposed to traditional chain hotels. These types of small hotels offer unique settings with upscale accommodations, while traditional hotel rooms lack the personality. The concept of the new boutique hotel chain by Hermes-Sojitz will combine an exclusive design and high standards of service provided by the top international hotel operator.
