Power Scuba Hosts "Vets & Newbies" Dive Event

SAN DIEGO - Sept. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- Non-profit organization Power Scuba will host its "Vets & Newbies" dive event at 8:30am this Saturday, September 24th, at La Jolla Shores Park. The event promotes diver safety by "buddying up" new and/or inexperienced scuba divers with more experienced divers for a dive in La Jolla Canyon.

This event is scheduled one week before California spiny lobster fishing season begins. Every year, the excitement of lobster season brings with it an increase in diving accidents and fatalities. By encouraging inexperienced divers to refresh their skills and check their equipment under the guidance of a capable buddy, this year's Vets & Newbies event hopes to encourage safe and responsible diving practices this lobster season.

The Vets & Newbies event is one of Power Scuba's many efforts to promote a safety-conscious mindset among the Southern California dive community.
