The Sam Sherwin Band Performs on the Upcoming LIVE GingerNewYork TV Show in New York City

NEW YORK - Sept. 24, 2016 - PRLog -- Sam Sherwin: is a singer­/songwriter that hails from the NYC/NJ area that has been making a name for himself on the east coast since the mid­ 80s. He's opened for Nona Hendryx, Rachel Sweet, Steve Forbert, Jill Sobule, The Replacements and a host of other national acts and has performed at some of the top venues in New York City, including The Bitter End, The R Bar, CBGB's, The Mercury Lounge, Sullivan Hall, China Club, Lone Star Roadhouse and many others.

Sam Sherwin also released three independent CDs; The Coward's Parade (2001), Dirty Little Secrets (2004) and Iodine Cocktails (2011). Mr. Sherwin's latest release was overseen by noted NYC producer Randy Crafton and features core band member/keyboardist Peter Vitalone (Les Paul, Dayna Kurtz, Richie Havens, Garland Jeffrys) along with a number of prominent world class session players such as bassists Wilbur Bascomb (Jeff Beck, Bernard Purdie, Mick Taylor, James Brown) and Keith Golden (Dido, Eminem, Paula Cole) and backing vocalist/guitarist Walter Parks (Richie Havens).

The Sam Sherwin Band has been steadily building a stellar reputation as an "A" level act in the NYC/New Jersey region for the last few years. Peter Vitalone: has defined the roles "sideman" and "session musician" for many years. His keyboard, arranging and production skills have been employed in full effect behind some of the most iconic artists of our time; including jazz legend and innovator Les Paul, Richie Havens, Jimmy Buffet, Garland Jeffrys, et al. The versatile Vitalone has also jammed with The Band's Rick Danko and Levon Helm and performed with members from David Byrne, Santana and Jeff Beck. Peter Vitalone's debut solo album was released in 2012 and entitled "One of Us." Among others, the album featured a notable performance from Grammy winning trumpeter Randy Brecker. The piano man's second and current solo release is called "This Side of the Dirt" and it continues on that trajectory path of brilliant keyboard playing, amusing and insightful slices of life, lyrical melodies and great songs. At present, Vitalone continues to support a myriad of diverse artists throughout New York, New Jersey and around the world.
