The Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville to Host 14th Annual Buddy Walk

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sept. 28, 2016 - PRLog -- The Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville is set to host its largest annual fundraiser on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Seawalk Pavilion at Jacksonville Beach from 11:30am-4:00pm. The event is free and open to the public. DSAJ's Buddy Walk features events, entertainment, and food for families in the Northeast Florida area. The carnival, entertainment, and food trucks open at 11:30am. Opening ceremonies for the start of Buddy Walk begin at 1:30pm. The one-mile beach walk will start at 2pm.

The DSAJ set their Buddy Walk fundraising goal at $240,000 in 2016. About the Buddy Walk:

The Buddy Walk® was created by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk® has grown from 17 walks to over 240 last year, raising over $13 million dollars to benefit local programs and services.
