Sophia Lucia to star in Hallmark Channel's "A Nutcracker Christmas" on December 10, 2016

TORONTO & LOS ANGELES - Sept. 30, 2016 - PRLog -- Sophia Lucia has joined the cast with Amy Acker and Sascha Radetsky for "A Nutcracker Christmas." Filming has begun in Toronto, Canada for Hallmark Channel's "A Nutcracker Christmas" which will air on December 10, 2016.

Michael Lembeck (Connie and Carla, Tooth Fairy) will direct. Howard Braunstein and Michael G. Larkin are the Executive Producers.

Official logline: "Rising star Lilly James lives and breathes ballet. Her sister, Beth, is not only her biggest fan but often forgoes her own needs to make sure Lilly has every opportunity possible. Lilly's devotion pays off when she is accepted into the New York City Ballet. Her biggest dream comes true when she lands the lead role of Clara in The Nutcracker and will make her debut on Christmas Eve. As she prepares for her big night, she receives the tragic news that her sister has died. She is removed from the show by none other than Mark, her boyfriend and dance partner. Betrayed and heartbroken, she vows never to dance again. Years later, Lilly's niece receives the same Christmas wish, the role of Clara in the prestigious Philadelphia Nutcracker Ballet, only to find that the Ballet Director is Mark, who betrayed Lilly years ago. Sophia Lucia will be playing the role of Lilly's Niece, Sophie, who stars in the role of Clara in the Nutcracker. Sophia is known around the world for her dance achievements.

Sophia just turned 14 years old and has already achieved a lifetime of dance awards. Sophia is a Guinness World Record Holder, Social Media Star and Entrepreneur. Sophia Lucia loves to dance and strives each day to be the best she can be by pushing her ability to the limit. Sophia has been training in acting as well, and is just starting her career.

Sophia started dancing at the young age of 2 years at San Diego Dance Centre in Poway, CA and is now flourishing to be one of the most exciting and top talents in the industry. She trains 35 to 40 hours a week in Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Ballet. Sophia's focus and determination is leading her to excel in many ways, as in setting the New Official Guinness World Record of 55 Consecutive Pirouettes. Sophia models & designs her own dance line and has several National Champion Dance Titles. At such a young age, she has been featured in numerous television shows such as 'Dancing with the Stars,' 'So You Think You Can Dance,' Disney's hit show 'Shake It Up,' 'Dance Moms,' 'X-Factor' and 'America's Got Talent,' plus several talk shows like 'The Ellen Show,' 'The Ricki Lake Show,' to name a few. She made her film debut in 2010 as child star icon Shirley Temple in the Fox Legacy Movie "The Shirley Temple Story." And just recently she was on the Nickelodeon show Nicky, RIcky, Dicky & Dawn.

Sophia recently traveled to Varna, Bulgaria to compete at the world renowned international Ballet competition "Varna IBC" where she won the Gold medal alongside her partner.
