Follow on Google News | Kent State University's College of Business Administration Hosts Meet the Accountants NightBy: Kent State College of Business Administration A total of 246 current and prospective undergraduate and graduate accounting majors, Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) students and alumni met with organizations from public, corporate, government and nonprofit accounting sectors. The event allowed students to practice making introductions, sharpening their interview skills and networking techniques all in effort to obtain a summer internship and ultimately, a career in the accounting industry. "Meet the Accountants Night is an exciting event for our accounting majors," said Linda Zucca, Ph.D., accounting associate professor and department chair in accounting at the College of Business Administration. "It is great to see recruiters and students conversing on a casual basis. We had an excellent turnout." Nearly 50 employers participated in the event, located in the Kent State Student Center Ballroom. Some of the businesses in attendance included Maloney + Navotny LLC, EY and Deliotte. "I have attended many accounting career fairs and this is by far the most organized and energetic," said Erin Nunn, director of the Career Services Office. "Our students were well prepared for the event and I am pleased to see the diverse spread of companies that attended." Next year's Meet the Accountants Night is slated for September 14, 2017.
