Solomon Entrepreneurship Speaker SeriesBy: Kent State College of Business Administration Clegg is a native of Northeast Ohio and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Management from Albion College. He developed his love for entrepreneurship while serving as the Vice President of Franchise Development for Smith & Associates, the largest independent U.S. distributor of integrated circuits. In 1987, after a few years in the semiconductor industry, Clegg started his first business, Clegg Industries, and moved from Houston, Texas to Los Angeles in 1989. From a one-person company, CLEGG Industries grew into a 150-person organization with offices around the world. In 2001, Tim and his brothers, Kevin, John and Jim, started Americhip Inc., with the hopes of integrating the best in paper and packing engineering with microelectronics. With a strong business model and talented designers and engineers, Americhip has grown into one of the nation's leading developers and producers of multisensory, digital and mobile marketing display products and technologies. Clegg spends most of his time sharing the Americhip vision with leading Fortune 500 brands across key vertical industries, including automotive, pharmaceutical, retail and advertising agencies.
