SafeTraces, Inc. receives prestigious US Food and Drug Administration grantBy: SafeTraces, Inc. PLEASANTON, Calif. - Oct. 4, 2016 - PRLog -- SafeTraces, Inc., a San Francisco Bay Area-based company that is developing ground-breaking food safety solutions, today announced that it received a prestigious grant from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant will enable the company to advance the development of its cutting-edge method for verification of sanitization in food processing facilities. This novel method uses FDA-approved, non-living materials that are engineered to behave like pathogens, such as E coli, salmonella, and listeria. These pathogens are frequently implicated in outbreaks that sicken thousands of people each year. Control of these pathogens in food processing facilities is difficult. Present methods available to producers to ensure proper levels of sanitation are expensive, time consuming, frequently inconclusive and, as a result, not practical.
"Our work is providing a rapid, safe, on-site method to verify sanitation in food processing operations," SafeTraces, Inc. is a food safety solutions company providing disruptive solutions for food traceability, purity verification, and sanitation verification.
