The Naples Players to present comedy/drama Outside Mullingar

NAPLES, Fla. - Oct. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- The Naples Players will present the comedy/drama Outside Mullingar, October 26-November 20, in the Tobye Studio at Sugden Community Theatre in downtown Naples.

         Anthony and Rosemary are neighbors in rural Ireland. He is an introverted farmer and she is the woman who vows to have him at all costs. When Anthony's father threatens to disinherit his son, Rosemary steps into the middle of a land feud and family eccentricities ensue beyond what one might imagine. Full of dark humor and poetic prose, John Patrick Sh3anley's tender-hearted portrait reminds us that love, early or late, always arrives on time.

         The feisty and determined Rosemary Muldoon will be played by Denise Villarreal. Villarreal has appeared on The Naples Players' stage in previous shows, including Distracted, Spinning into Butter, and Love, Loss & What I Wore.

         Bonnie Knapp performs as Aoife Muldoon, the sharp and opinionated mother of Rosemary.  Knapp performed most recently in A Sleeping Country as Isabella Orsini.

         Starring as Anthony Reilly, the lonely and shy love interest of Rosemary, is Greg Sofranko. This will be Sofranko's first performance with The Naples Players.

         Michael Troop will perform the role of weathered Tony Reilly, Anthony's father. Troop was seen on stage previously as Charles in The Clean House as well as in ETC…Readers Theatre's shows.

         Naples Players' intern, Sarah Chichester, will direct.  Chichester is a graduate of NYU in educational theatre. She has directed Off-Broadway, Off-Off -Broadway and regionally in Chicago, Washington DC, and New Jersey, as well as internationally in Israel. She is a 4 time award-nominated director in NYC.

         Performances are Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for students 21 and under, and can be purchased at the box office, with credit card by calling 239-263-7990, or online atwww.naplesplayers.org.
