FLORENCE, Ala. - Oct. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Southern Swaddle, a husband and wife startup out of the Shoals, has decided to pursue lowering the infant mortality rate in Alabama. After learning that Alabama ranked next to last in infant mortality, they knew this would be their cause. Soon-to-be parents Adam and Miriah created a business not only to share their swaddle, but to create change in the communities around them. "Creating positive change all around us is our end goal, not pursuing a profit," says Adam.

Southern Swaddle was born in 2016. Miriah, a University of Alabama student, was researching products they would need for their baby girl due this November. After coming up empty-handed looking for the perfect swaddle for their little one, they set out to design one that would fit their own needs. The result was a unique swaddle, made with a breathable, wicking fabric. The fabric is made in the United States, and the swaddle is sewn in Alabama.

Their first step is to launch their business, and then raise awareness about the high infant mortality rate. They are currently running a Kickstarter campaign here: Southern Swaddle Kickstarter Campaign. They decided to use Kickstarter as an alternative to giving up equity or taking out high interest business loans. They are offering a limited batch of discounted swaddles that they guarantee to be delivered in time for Christmas. The swaddles are being offered in baby blue, light pink, and soft yellow.
