Celebrate halloween with a little italian flair this October!

FULHAM, U.K. - Oct. 21, 2016 - PRLog -- Traditionally speaking, Halloween is not really a holiday Italians celebrate, though it has been growing in popularity since the early 90s. Used mostly as an excuse to dress up and party, Halloween costumes and decorations have slowly been trickling into shops around this time of year, and some people have even expressed alarm that it may overtake the traditional festival of Carnevale in popularity. While that seems unlikely, we suggest some reciprocation – so why not infuse your Halloween with a little Italian spirit?

What to Eat

Our pumpkin-inspired Pizza Zucca
, with autumnal flavours of roasted butternut squash, crispy pancetta, crumbled roasted chorizo, and smoked chicken.

Our spooky Pizza Nera - roasted yellow peppers, wild boar salami, punto di coltello, sun blushed tomatoes and rocket on a black base. (Or, why not make your own pizzas on a black base by fully customising the Nera?)

Our frightening Diavola Infernale, with harissa pizza sauce, nduja sausage, salami piccante, spianatta piccante, fresh scotch bonnet chillis, dried smoked chilli flakes plus an extra sachet to add to one's taste – see who is brave enough to give it a go!

What to Drink

We recommend making your own Halloween cocktail – be as creative as you can!

Our suggestion? The Bobbing Bellini. Green apple juice (plus a drop of green food colouring if you really want it to spook) topped up with Italian Prosecco, with apple spheres "bobbing" on the top. A Halloween cocktail with a touch of class.

What to Do

Watch a scary Italian film (if you can stomach it). Our suggestions?

1) Demons, 1985, Lamberto Bava

2) Beyond the Darkness/Buio Omega, 1979, Joe D'Amato

3) Cemetery Man/Dellamorte Dellamore, 1994, Michele Soave

Alternatively, keep things a little lighter with traditional Halloween games like bobbing for apples, pumpkin carving competitions or pin the tibia on the skeleton…

What to Wear

Keep the Italian theme going with your costume! No inspiration? Here are five of our favourite ideas.

1) Mafioso. Come in a dapper suit and hat with an old-timey gun, a horse head, and an offer they can't refuse.

2) Venetian gondolier. Stripy shirt, boater hat, red scarf, done. Brush up on "Just one Cornetto" but leave the boat at home.

3) La Dolce Vita Poster. Basically an excuse to wear a nice dress and no shoes. Complete the picture by having a bucket of water on hand to splash about in à la Trevi Fountain.

4) Masked and Marvellous. Channel some Carnevale spirit and go en masque!

5) Clint Eastwood in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. It is a spaghetti Western, after all!
