Pro Bono Net Celebrates National 'Celebrate Pro Bono' Week

NEW YORK - Oct. 24, 2016 - PRLog -- Pro Bono Net is pleased to announce our partnerships and celebrations surrounding National Celebrate Pro Bono Week (October 23-29). National Celebrate Pro Bono Week focuses the nation's attention on the increasing need for pro bono and acknowledges the dedication and unprecedented response of attorneys who volunteer their services throughout the year.

Pro Bono Net, a national non-profit organization dedicated to increasing access to justice for the disadvantaged through innovative uses of technology, collaboration, and volunteer mobilization, joins this week long celebration to salute the work of volunteer lawyers across the country who help low-income people achieve access to justice.

This year we are celebrating National Pro Bono Week through a special Volunteering Through Technology Initiative.  As part of this initiative, we will feature pro bono volunteers who are currently participating in some of our technology-enabled initiatives that help increase access to justice throughout the nation.  This includes the power and potential of technology to help bridge the urban-rural divide in our newest initiative "Closing the Gap"; simplifying complex legal forms via document assembly tools and leveraging technology to expand volunteer efforts in court self-help centers; and more. Each of the profiles provide a valuable insight into the motivations, rewards and incentives to volunteer, and the role of technology in pro bono and increasing access to justice.
