Follow on Google News | £1m Training Budget for Care HomeTeam members from the award winning Frome Nursing Home have been given access to a £1m training budget to ensure the best possible support is on offer. The nursing and residential home which specialises in dementia care is part of the national Evolve Care Group. The Care Quality Commission published its annual report on Thursday morning saying it was worried about the 'emerging evidence of deterioration in quality' of many care homes across the UK. Frome Nursing Home is offering something very different by undertaking this £1 million journey to become an outstanding care home, part of which saw members of the care team travelling to London for a pioneering Empowerment Seminar. Clinical Director, Eve Carder said "Unfortunately the Care Sector has suffered from significant under investment for many years. At Evolve Care Group we recognise the important of training and personal development. We are privileged to have this large budget which means all of our team members can get the very latest and the very best training possible with events like the Empowerment Seminar." Over 300 other care professionals from across England and Wales joined together to help people working in the sector to recognise and deliver outstanding care. The day saw a number of speakers encouraging staff to be more empowered and come to work with a positive mindset. World-renowned Jo Davison spoke about her Blue Cow concept and the importance of positivity in the work-place. Jermaine Harris also shared the secrets of how he managed to turn his life around by taking control of his mind and body, and encouraged staff to do exactly the same. He even demonstrated walking on shards of glass was possible with the right mindset. Jason Catchpole, House Manager at Frome Nursing Home, said "we were so inspired to ensure that we support the people living with us in the best way possible at all times" Frome Nursing Home is a 60 strong family community and is currently recruiting nurses and care workers to join its award winning team and benefit from the training opportunities.
