Stonehurst Place Joins 'B&Bs For Vets' to host service men and women Veteran's Day 2016

ATLANTA - Nov. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- Stonehurst Place today announced it will host one military service member or couple this Veteran's Day in conjunction with B&Bs For Vets.  The organization, now in its eight year, includes the support of B&Bs and inns across the U.S. that invite veterans and active military personnel to stay for free in observance of Veteran's Day. Service members from all branches of the armed forces will stay on Thursday November 10th, the night before Veteran's Day, and wake up to relish the Veteran's Day celebration and enjoy the inn's much-lauded two course breakfast and elegant surroundings.

Stonehurst Place is Atlanta's only B&B participating in the B&Bs For Vets program, and has participated each year since the program's inception. This eco-friendly bed and breakfast inn features deluxe rooms and suites with gourmet breakfast served to guests each morning.  In addition to a large collection of books coveted by guests for their interesting and varied subject matter, the inn juxtaposes museum-quality art with family photos of the original owners and their son who served and died in WWI.

The B&Bs for Vets program started in 2008 when Kathleen Penek, co-owner of the Gillum House, and a handful of other innkeepers in West Virginia opened their doors to veterans in honor of Veteran's Day. The program grew in popularity among innkeepers, and throughout the tenure of this program thousands of inns and B&Bs in the US and Canada participated by offering free rooms to veterans. This year, the Association of Independent Hospitality Professionals coordinates the B&Bs for Vets program as a way to help veterans learn about today's B&B experience.
