Follow on Google News | Newhaven Court at Lindwood to host Veterans event on Nov. 15Amedisys Hospice, Mount Pleasant American Legion Honor Guard will recognize veterans at senior living community
By: IntegraCare Amedisys Hospice will lead the program, which will feature the Honor Guard from the American Legion Post 446 in Mount Pleasant. Westmoreland County Commissioner Charles Anderson will be a featured speaker during the event, which will begin at 2 p.m. at the senior living community at 100 Freedom Way in Greensburg. Thirty veterans who reside at Newhaven Court at Lindwood and their spouses will be put into the spotlight. "Our team at Newhaven Court at Lindwood is privileged and honored to recognize the veterans who are part of our community," said Lori Grant, Executive Director of Newhaven Court at Lindwood. "We feel it is important to remember the sacrifices made by all the men and women who have served our country." The program will consist of an opening prayer and the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. Commissioner Anderson will speak, and a video will be shown. The veterans and their spouses will receive certificates and pins. "This event means so much not only to the veterans and their spouses, but to all of us at Newhaven Court at Lindwood," said Stacey Carr, Activities Director at the community.
