New England Clean Energy Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary with Customer Event

HUDSON, Mass. - Nov. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- Eighty customers joined employees of New England Clean Energy for a 10^th anniversary celebration at the solar installation company's Hudson headquarters recently, New England Clean Energy President Mark Durrenberger announced.

"In October 2006, I started a renewable energy company out of my home. Ten years, one name change, 37 employees, and 750 solar electric systems later, New England Clean Energy has become a leader in the regional solar industry. We are thrilled that so many customers took time out of their weekend to celebrate this achievement with us, since they played a huge role in our success," Durrenberger said.

At the event, banners were displayed stating the solar benefits achieved by customers in 10 years: New England Clean Energy conservatively calculated its customers' total electricity production at 13,037,000 kilowatt-hours. That amount of clean energy prevented the release of 10,099 tons of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to taking 1,935 cars off the road for a year, or the carbon sequestration of 8,670 acres of trees.

One-hundred-twenty people – mostly customers and company employees -- mingled and enjoyed refreshments and solar-related activities. Customers viewed products including SunPower solar panels, a Mitsubishi Electric ductless mini-split heating and cooling system, and a battery storage unit. They watched demonstrations of roof evaluations and solar energy system designs, and offered video testimonials of their support for solar.
