Francene Marie Morris Walks Away with AMG Radio Personality of the Year Award

MONROE, N.C. - Nov. 30, 2016 - PRLog -- Night of a Thousand Stars was the theme for The 2016 Artists Music Guild Heritage Awards held on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Syndicated Radio Journalist Francene Marie Morris received the 2016 Radio Personality of the Year Award. The ceremony hosted by actor and songwriter Clifton Davis and singer-songwriter Freda Payne honored individuals in the entertainment industry who bring national attention to important issues such as the value and impact of the arts and education to the general public.

Normally, Francene Marie would be the one holding a microphone capturing sound-bites at prestigious red carpet events, but this time she was a nominee walking the red carpet, being interviewed by the media before entering the ballroom. "My level of respect for actresses, actors and musical performers reciting their acceptance speeches increased 200 percent when I surprisingly heard my name announced as the winner of the Radio Personality of the Year," says Morris. "I was filled with so much joy when I heard my name announced by performing artist Tommy Brandt & Flirting with Sincerity. When the Steel City Sound Orchestra and Mississippi Music Foundation Youth Chamber Orchestra played my favorite song, Brick House by the Commodores I literally lost it, and yes I danced my way to the stage.  So in 5-inch silver sling back heels and a cobalt blue dress gown by Ralph Lauren, I was hoping in my oblivious moment that everything I tucked and taped that night stayed without dropping," she joked.
