The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world's top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2016 awards received entries from 31 nations and territories. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for "crowned," the awards were presented to winners on Saturday during a dinner event attended by more than 500 people at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The event was broadcast on Livestream. More than 1,400 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Executive of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year, among others. Flood won in the Female Executive of the Year category for Government or Non-Profit (11 to 2,500 Employees). New Directions for Women is a world-renowned, exclusively female, private drug and alcohol rehab program providing social model residential addiction treatment services for women of all ages, including pregnant women, women with children, women who have relapsed, had prior treatments and suffer from a co-existing disorder. With nearly four decades of experience in the addiction field, Flood has demonstrated expertise in program development, implementation, evaluation, clinical oversight, business development and responsible fiscal management. Flood attended Johns Hopkins University and obtained her Master of Human Services from Lincoln University. She is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in the state of New Jersey, a Nationally Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor (NCAC II) and is certified in California, Delaware and New Jersey as a Drug & Alcohol Counselor (CADC II). She currently serves as a member of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) Board, a member of the Seabrook House Board, President of the Association of Intervention Specialists (AIS), a member of the TRIAD Board in Wilmington, DE, a member of the Advisory Committee for Limen House in Wilmington, DE, a member of the Sober Living Coalition Board for the State of CA, and a member of the Advisory Board for Hotel California by the Sea.
