United States Power Squadrons Digital Media Library Debuts Maneuvering on Plane Video

RALEIGH, N.C. - Nov. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- The United States Power Squadrons® (USPS) announces the debut of its streaming media video focused on maneuvering on plane in its Digital Media Library (DML) online at www.uspsdml.org and as a free mobile app.

The new "Maneuvering on Plane" (https://youtu.be/PSd8YEnh_Uw)video shows viewers how to steer a straight course in their boats at a high speed in a predetermined direction for fifty boat lengths.

Viewers will also learn how to make course alterations by smoothly turning their boats at high speed and assuming new headings 45 degrees to port and starboard using appropriate throttle controls.

Also featured are special tips on crossing waves or wakes by using an appropriate angle of approach and controlling the boat's speed for the given wake or wave size and frequency, avoiding collisions by maintaining a proper lookout, demonstrating frequent 360-degree visual checks, and assessing potential hazardous situations and taking early and decisive action.

Along with the new video, the USPS DML is adding a related boater education slideshow on Advanced Powerboat Handling (https://uspowersquadrons.sharefile.com/d-s7b818f89e864311a) as well as several new safe boating images.

The USPS DML is also distributing its "Maneuvering on Plane" video through popular social media including Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/USPSDML/) and YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1c_rFyt1fGqvdiSauAijAg). All digital media in the library is offered at no charge.
