Follow on Google News | UV Light Systems for Post Cure of SLA 3D Printed PartsUsing the SLA 3D printing method with UV light curable resins can be a quick, efficient process but often needs additional post-cure to ensure the part reaches its full strength; or for reworking or repair.
By: Techsil A recent development has been the increase of interest in UV light-curing spot and flood-lamp systems and UV curing chambers from companies making SLA 3D printed parts using UV light curable resins. After a 3D model is built, it is often necessary to supply additional curing energy to ensure that optimized material properties are achieved or to rework/repair the component. For the post-curing stage, high performance UV curing equipment is recommended such as the leading industrial UV range developed by the German Manufactures, Dr. Hoenle AG. Hoenle's unique product range coupled with the technical expertise offered by Techsil mean customers using SLA 3D printing can get the most advanced and up to date advice on choosing the correct tool to finish their process. Hoenle's flood lamp systems are designed for curing multiple assemblies at once. For rework or repair, such as curing drain-hole fills, assembling larger assemblies, or repairing cracked or broken models, Hoenle's spot-lamp systems are the ideal solution and are suited to manual or automated processes. Depending on the material and necessary post curing dose, UV light curing chambers such as the UVACube 100, LED Cube 100 are suitable for smaller parts and the UVACube 2000 for larger 3D printed parts (up to 460 x 400 x 300mm).
