Tom Renouf named Ride Rater's Photographer of the Year 2016

LONDON - Dec. 2, 2016 - PRLog -- UK theme park media outlet Ride Rater has named Tom Renouf of Colchester, Essex as its Photographer of the Year 2016.

The award is now in its fourth year, and Tom's stunning capture of Thorpe Park's Saw rollercoaster won him the acolade.

Ride Rater spokesman Steve Wilson said: "Our award is now in its fourth year, and the quality of entries has consistently increased each time.

"Tom's photo was deserving of the win, but it's important to stress that he was pushed hard for the win, by the effort put in from the other entrants."

Meanwhile, Ride Rater has also named Thorpe Park as winner of its Best Park Award 2016.

Galactica, the re-themed Air rollercoaster at Alton Towers, was named as Best New Addition in 2016.

Wilson said: "We felt that Thorpe Park put the most effort into getting all of its rides open in 2016, in a year of budget cuts across the industry.

"Galactica is a sensational experience, the feeling of the wind in your face at the same time as viewing footage of an artic flight is amazing.

"The g-forces also combine perfectly with the imagery."
