Community First Credit Union Appoints Chief Information Officer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Dec. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- Community First Credit Union, one of Florida's largest credit unions with membership open to anyone on the First Coast, announces that it has appointed a chief information officer (CIO), a newly-created executive position in its Jacksonville-based headquarters. David Thibodeau has joined the credit union effective immediately.

In this new role Thibodeau is responsible for developing, creating and implementing IT policies that help achieve company and member goals. He oversees the planning and development of technology in all facets of banking transactions, member experience as well as enhanced security. He will also oversee records retention and the credit union's electronic records and mail services.


Tim Simpson, previously the institution's vice president of information technology, has been named the credit union's information security officer. Simpson has been with the credit union for more than 17 years. Thibodeau will manage the entire team of expert information technology professionals at Community First.


"Our new CIO will lead us into the next era of digital technology," said John Hirabayashi, CEO and president of Community First. "We are proud to have Thibodeau on our expanding team."

Thibodeau has more than 15 years of technology and information systems experience in the financial industry and is a certified information systems security professional (CISSP). Most recently he served as vice president of information technology for Workers Credit Union in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Before that role, he held several information technology positions with NWN Corporation, North Central IT Services and Athena Health. He served as an ecological specialist for the civil engineer squadron of the United States Air Force and earned his MBA at Fitchburg State University and a Bachelor's degree in business administration at Ashford University.

In addition to his industry certifications, Thibodeau serves on the technology council of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and has been involved with technology and skills volunteerism in his former community.
