A change to FIA regulations for some competition vehicles has led to an increase in demand for original type Dunlop brake components. Supplies of new, original bodies have long been exhausted and it has become increasingly hard to source good quality, serviceable items for reconditioning. To ensure continuity of supply, Denis Welch Motorsport has undertaken the re-manufacture of Dunlop small calliper bodies fitted to these cars. Wide and narrow bodies available. Jaguar E-Type's should use wide body version which suits thicker ½" discs. Narrow body versions are to suit Austin Healey and other Jaguar applications such as MK2 and early S-Type's. The front bodies have 3.00" bolt centres; the rears incorporate the handbrake calliper mounting lugs, with 2 ¾" bolt centres. All types are made using top-quality castings and are finished in a bright zinc passivate for corrosion protection and a long life. These are a direct fit replacement for the standard item and are fully compatible with Denis Welch Motorsport, competition piston assemblies, sold separately. A choice of friction materials is also available to suit road, race or rally use. Also available are a range of fitting accessories including pad retainers, mounting brackets and ARP fixing bolts to suit the application. As well as the FIA ruling, the use of original type parts is important to some owners who wish to retain the 'original' specification of their road car. The availability of these new calliper bodies will therefore be of significant interest to Austin Healey and Jaguar owners worldwide. Direct from the manufacturer These new calliper bodies have been designed in-house using the latest software by the company's CAD team and take advantage of modern manufacturing methods and metallurgy to produce a part that is 'Better Than Original'. A number of prototypes were made, including 3D printed versions to check for fitment and compatibility with existing mountings and components. The resulting parts have also been extensively tested on the race track, an environment which tests components to the limit. Each calliper body is cast with the letters DWR, ensuring that they are easily identifiable as being Denis Welch Motorsport originals. Currently the only new small Dunlop calliper bodies on the market, these are now available exclusively from Denis Welch Motorsport.
