Around Arlington: Interlochen Christmas Lights

ARLINGTON, Texas - Dec. 9, 2016 - PRLog -- This year marks the 41st anniversary of Christmas lights in the Arlington, TX neighborhood of Interlochen. From December 16-December 25, 2016 over 100,000 visitors are expected to drive through the Interlochen neighborhood, admiring homes adorned in lights.

Arlington police help manage the heavy traffic through the subdivision; but, be sure to bring lots of patience with you. It will be slow going through the area…and it is so worth it!

Since the mid 1970s, the good people of Interlochen have been spreading holiday cheer by decorating their homes and front yards. The approximately 200 participating homes compete for the awards of: Best New Resident, People's Choice, Best Theme, and everyone's favorite – the most over the top award, also known as the, 'Griswold Award'.

So grab your hot chocolate, load up your family in the car with your favorite Christmas music, and enjoy a wonderful night of dazzling lights in one of the best neighborhoods of DFW!

Where: Interlochen subdivision. Drive-through entrance point is at the intersection of Randol Mill Rd and Westwood Dr in Arlington, Texas.

-From I-30E: Exit at Fielder Road. Travel South to Randol Mill Rd. Turn right on Randol Mill Rd. Follow Randol Mill Rd. to Westwood Dr.

-From I-30W: Exit on Chase Parkway. Travel East on Meadowbrook Blvd to Randol Mill Rd. Turn right on Randol Mill Rd and follow to Westwood Dr.
