BEAUFORT, S.C. - Dec. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- Filmmaker Brad Jayne will be honored at the 11th Annual Beaufort International Film Festival taking place February 15-19, 2017 in Beaufort, SC. He will be presented with the festival's prestigious "Behind the Scenes" Award.

For more than fifteen years as a Charleston-based independent filmmaker, he focuses on original work set and shot in the Carolinas, recently writing and directing the feature-film Warrior Road. The independent film project was shot over 29 days in 20 locations in the Charleston and Myrtle Beach areas, with a crew of South Carolina production professionals, a team of tightknit collaborators who represent the immense technical and creative skill of the current South Carolina production industry.

Brad is currently prepping his second feature, entitled The Purpose of Winter.

He also has founded and oversees industry development programs in the state, such as the Indie Grants Program, a one-of-a-kind production grant program he started with the South Carolina Film Commission and Trident Technical College. The Indie Grants program funds and produces short films by South Carolina filmmakers, bringing in top-notch production professionals for the films with Trident Tech students working under the professionals as hands-on training. Over the five-year life of the program Brad has produced 27 of these projects, celebrated by the likes of Sundance Film Festival, Palm Springs Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, L.A. Film Festival, DragonCon, FantasticFest, Stiges Film Fest, Mediera Film Festival, Beaufort International Film Festival, and more.

Brad also supervises the South Carolina Young Filmmakers Project, a statewide high-school filmmaking competition used to introduce and encourage technical and creative production skills to the next generation of filmmakers, with an emphasis on story and production value.
