By: www.heritageit.edu The Smart India Hackathon will be held in Feb-March 2017, is a 36-hour non-stop digital programming competition which aims to harness creativity and talent of 30 lakh students from various engineering colleges in India. Teams will compete to offer innovative solutions for solving any given problem statement. For this Hackathon, the problem statements have been provided from different ministries and government departments. Nearly 26 ministries are participating in this competition which will be held simultaneously at 33 centers across India. The seminar was addressed in length by Dr. Abhay Jere who briefed the concept of Smart India Hackathon to the students and faculty members and also stated the ways for registering for the same. The last date for submission of projects is 20th January 2017. The winners in this Smart India Hackathon will be awarded a Cash prize of Rs. 1 lac and there will be lucrative prizes for the second and third position holders. In fact IIT & NIT students will also brain storm at Smart India Hackathon.
