Be A Great Dad! First Father Focus Paternal Health Care & Education ConferenceNew, Expectant, and Future Dads Welcome to Attend Conference
By: Fatherhood Task Force of South Florida Highlighting the importance of fathers' health, parenting knowledge, skills and involvement in planning, preparing and adapting to fatherhood, this groundbreaking Conference will focus on men's health, well-being and how their preparation for parenthood affects pregnancy, birth outcomes and their growing child's well-being. This initiative supports the Miami-Dade County Community Health Improvement Plan and is supported by the Florida Department of Health, Miami-Dade County, the Health Council of South Florida, Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade County, The Children's Movement, United Way, MDCPS Parent Academy and The Children's Trust and other local partners. "This Conference encourages legislation that addresses and provides appropriations for paternal health care screenings and follow-up which will close the gap in services for new and expectant dads," stated Holly Zwerling, CEO and President of the Fatherhood Task Force and the lead organizer along with Dr. Etiony Aldarondo, Provost of Albizu University, Miami Campus. "Statistics have shown that involved and engaged Fathers can greatly enhance their children's overall physical, social, and academic development," Expectant father and fitness expert, Malcolm Solomon, said, "I am looking forward to attending the Conference because I believe my health is important in preparing to become a new Father and to be a positive role model for my child."
