David Banner announced as keynote speaker at 30th Anniversary of San Antonio MLK March

SAN ANTONIO - Dec. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- The San Antonio Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission is proud to invite and present David Banner as the keynote speaker for the 2017 Martin Luther King, Jr. March. Banner will speak on empowering the community and the dream of Martin Luther King, Jr. and what that means in urban communities. Mr. Banner has been regarded as an upfront, in-your-face, no holds barred type of communicator – he is sure to provide impactful insight on a range of topics including economic impact and political influence of minority and urban communities.

In 2017, the City of San Antonio will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its sponsorship of the local march and commemoration, regarded by many as one of the largest commemorative marches in the country. More than 300,000 attendees will participate in the historic march on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 10:00AM.

David Banner grew up in Jackson, Mississippi and is a graduate of Southern University. Banner began his career as a rapper, actor, and producer. Now a passionate activist and CEO of A Banner Vision he uses his status and influence to be a voice for both the black community and the disenfranchised. In November 2006, Mr. Banner was awarded the Visionary Award by the National Black Caucus of the State Legislature in recognition of his work after Hurricane Katrina. More recently, Mr. Banner created the "God Box" lecture series touring various universities, appearing on CNN, and in publications like ESSENCE and VIBE.
