United Premier Soccer League Announces JASA RWC as Northwest Conference Expansion Team

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Sept. 12, 2017 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce JASA RWC as a new member starting with the 2017 Fall Season.

Based in Redwood City (Calif.), JASA RWC will play in the UPSL's Northwest Conference.

United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We'd like to welcome JASA RWC to the UPSL Northwest Conference, which continues to grow with outstanding soccer clubs throughout Northern California. JASA is a quality club and they want to challenge themselves on the Pro Development level and compete for a UPSL Championship. We wish Jake Morrison and JASA RWC all the best as they get set to begin the Fall Season."

JASA RWC is operated by Jake Morrison, a former collegiate and professional player. Morrison, 32, earned a Master's of Science degree from Ohio University and holds a USSF 'A' Coaching License.

JASA Redwood City Head Coach and Director of Player Development Jake Morrison said, "JASA means 'good futbol,' and it means everything we want to be on the pitch. To our guys it's just JASA. There's no acronym. It's just JASA and that's how everyone knows us."

JASA (pronounced Jah-sa) is a membership-driven club with a long-standing affiliation with DV8 Soccer in the Bay Area. An independent adult soccer training academy, JASA offers year-round training designed for serious players looking to advance their careers.

"We've expanded our program over the years and we've grown into two teams," Morrison said. "This has been an evolution that has taken time but we think we're taking the right steps going forward. It's been something that we've wanted and have been waiting for, an increased level of competition, but the thing that the UPSL offers is the ability to connect and stay within our community. That's why I think the UPSL is a perfect fit for us."

The team will play its UPSL games at Red Morton Community Park (1120 Roosevelt Ave., Redwood City, CA 94061) in compliance with the UPSL's Minimum Standards. The club will soon announce its upcoming game schedule.

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 90 teams in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah and Virginia. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 100-plus teams targeted for 2018 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.
