HELIO, a Solar Light and Powerbank for Adventures & Emergencies, Gives 100% of Profits to Charity

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Sept. 13, 2017 - PRLog -- A small company in Silicon Valley has announced a Kickstarter campaign for a new product called HELIO, a solar-powered flashlight, lantern, and powerbank for use outdoors and during emergencies. Under development for two years, HELIO can operate for up to a month on a single charge, and can operate indefinitely with just one hour of sunlight daily.

Perfect for leisure activities like hiking and camping, HELIO is also an ideal solution for those without ready access to electricity—either due to natural or social causes. Users can light their way and charge their devices anywhere the sun shines: in a cabin off the grid in California's Sierra range, or in a small village in Tanzania.

"A couple of years ago we began working on HELIO with the thought that we would like to use something like it ourselves on camping trips, during power outages, and the like," said Jarrod Whaley, Makers4Good's Media Coordinator. "We soon realized that a product like HELIO could benefit all kinds of people in small but profound ways, and so we decided to put all of the profits toward helping people around the world who need light and power."
