ORLANDO, Fla. - Sept. 14, 2017 - PRLog -- The DiSTI Corporation, the world's leading provider of 3D virtual training solutions and graphical user interface software, is hosting their annual Duffer Charity Golf Tournament to raise funds in support of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Education for Central Florida K-12 students on October 14, 2017. All funds raised go directly to the Central Florida STEM Education Council (CFSEC). The Council strives to develop a unified STEM program including mass communication, mentorships, and resources for parents, students, and educators. The tournament is a casual family-friendly, fun-filled 9-hole event open to all skill levels. This year's goal is to raise $25,000.

The 2016 event raised $17,500 bringing the total contribution amount to nearly $50,000 for K-12 STEM activities, camps, and scholarships throughout Central Florida.

The funds raised by this event will support Central Florida STEM-related camps, scholarships, and activities. Funds from previous tournaments supported YMCA STEM programs, the US Army PEO STRI High School Engineering Internship Program, Teachers at I/ITSEC, and a STEM college scholarship. Through these programs, students and teachers are exposed to exciting, hands-on mentor-based programs that foster science, engineering, and technology skills.

"The DiSTI Duffer tournament has played a huge role in making sure that ALL students can get involved with STEM programming, no matter their financial situation," said Cory Johns, Executive Director, YMCA of Central Florida. "This corporation, along with the Central Florida STEM Education Council, convenes some of the biggest STEM advocates you can find throughout the area."

DiSTI invites the public to donate, sponsor, and/or play in the tournament to support the growth and development of STEM education within the Central Florida community. No experience is necessary. The player registration fee is a minimum donation of $45.00.
