TERRYVILLE, Conn. - Sept. 15, 2017 - PRLog -- Advanced Micro Controls Inc. (AMCI) has added an embedded switch to its popular line of Ethernet-based integrated stepper controller/drives. EtherNet/IP has become particularly popular because it is compatible with Rockwell Automation Allen Bradley PLCs, runs on standard Ethernet hardware, and employs the robust and proven Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) for communication, control, and data gathering. The embedded switch added to AMCI's EtherNet/IP integrated stepper drives offers support for Device Level Ring (DLR) installations to provide a fault tolerant connection. AMCI's powerful AC line powered stepper motor controller/drives are self contained with their own power supplies and are easily configured and commanded through the PLC's existing software, eliminating the need for a separate plug-in card controller.

Device Level Ring (Exclusive to EtherNet/IP)
The embedded Ethernet switch in AMCI's SD31045E2 & SD17060E2 networked series drives provides a network connection for additional devices and eliminates the need for an external Ethernet switch. DLR topology provides a fault tolerant connection that can detect a break in the network and redirect the network traffic, maintaining communication and system up-time.

AMCI's SD31045E2 & SD17060E2 stepper indexer/drives boast a wide range of features and provide up to 4.5 Arms or 6.0 Arms (respectively) of output current, making them compatible with AMCI's complete line of stepper motors. In addition to the built-in network interface and switch, AMCI's integrated network drives feature onboard indexers, encoder feedback, microstepping, programmable output current, anti-resonance circuitry, vari-step velocity control, compact design, and simplified set-up.

AMCI is a longstanding member of the Rockwell Automation Encompass Program (partners since 1988), and the SD17060E2 & SD31045E2 are listed as PartnerNetwork™ solutions within this program. All of AMCI's EtherNet/IP stepper motion products are 100% compatible with Allen-Bradley PLCs and offer the best PLC integration possible.
