Follow on Google News | First Recruits For Net World Sports Graduate SchemeAn award-winning online sports equipment retailer has welcomed the first two recruits hired as part of its new graduate placement scheme.
By: Net World Sports The year-long scheme will see the pair work for three months each in four different teams, Inbound Enquiries, Customer Care, Marketing, and Operations, giving them a fantastic grounding across all aspects of the business. Net World Sports, which is based on Wrexham Industrial Estate, sells more than 100,000 of its FORZA football goals a year throughout the world, making it the biggest-selling manufacturer in the UK. It is also ranked the second fastest-growing business in Wales according to the prestigious Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list. As well as learning alongside the managers and teams in each of the four departments, the new graduates have been assigned two mentors from within the firm, Owain Roberts and Alex Williamson, who they will work closely with over the coming months. Owain and Alex were heavily involved in the recruitment process of the graduates, and both are relishing the additional responsibility they have earned after themselves having to come through an internal recruitment process for the mentoring position. "By getting a taster of all the key parts of the business, our new graduates will get a really well-rounded introduction to us," Sophie Turner, HR and Facilities Manager at Net World Sports, explained. "In fact, it's similar to what many of our current senior team did when they initially started here, working in different roles across several departments before progressing to their current positions. It gave them a wider understanding of how we develop our products, how we market them, and what our customers are thinking, exactly the sort of experience our new graduates will benefit from too. "Sophie and Will were the stand-out candidates from the significant number of applicants we received when we launched our scheme earlier in the summer. They have the enthusiasm, ambition, and great ideas we look for in all our people, and are sure they will make a big impact here both during their placement and beyond." As well as the first intake to the firm's graduate scheme, Net World Sports has recently hired several other new members of staff taking its headcount to more than 80. And in the run-up to the traditionally busy Christmas period, it is currently looking to fill a number of other vacancies including a Social Media Manager and Brand Manager to join marketing, Magento Developers for its technical team, plus plenty of roles in its 120,000 square foot warehouse.
