SAN FRANCISCO - Oct. 12, 2017 - PRLog -- For the past five years, Anne has been the Regional Director of the Alzheimer's Association of Coachella Valley that includes Palm Springs. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and has worked in both Chicago, her hometown, and Los Angeles. Anne had prior experience as the Executive Director of "Lawyers for the Creative Arts", a nonprofit that covered the entire state of Illinois for many years, and served as the Director of Development at Make-A-Wish Foundation in Century City and Geffen Playhouse during the fourteen years that she and her husband lived in Santa Monica, CA.

"Anne Gimbel brings, to Maitri, seasoned leadership experience with aging populations, and a proven track record of development success in the non-profit sector. We feel fortunate to have been able to attract such a talented, facilitative leader to the role", said Michael Niemeyer, Maitri's Board President. "In welcoming Anne, I would like to thank Bill Musick for his 5 months of interim service. Bill completed several initiatives related to Maitri's commercial space and fund development plan that are key to supporting Maitri's mission well into the foreseeable future."

Anne and Bill will undergo a brief transition period for the first two weeks after Anne's official start date on October 30, 2017.

Bill Musick summed up his thoughts on the transition: "I have truly cherished the opportunity to return to a second stint as Maitri's Executive Director. Maitri is a treasure that I am pleased to have been able to support at several points in its history. With Anne's leadership, the community can look forward to many more years of Maitri serving as a beacon of hope and nurture to those who otherwise might fall between the cracks of our health and social systems. I wish her and all of Maitri's staff all the best."

Anne also holds a certificate in nonprofit management and a Masters in Clinical Psychology. Anne and her husband have adult twin sons living in San Francisco and Oakland, and two granddaughters, ages 5 and 6 years old, who are the delight of their lives. As a former professor of American Literature, she reads about 5-6 novels a month and enjoys all forms of music and art. In Anne's words, "I am looking forward to working with the Board and staff at Maitri and continuing the good work they do each day to support the individuals and families that reside and work at Maitri."
