Follow on Google News | Hundreds of Wisconsin Bikers Stormed the CapitalBy: ABATE of Wisconsin Inc. Why would bikers get on their bikes and ride to Madison on a cold and rainy Thursday? "The issues affecting motorcyclists across this state are important enough to them that they took a day off of work, and rearranged their schedules to have their voices heard", Steve Panten Legislative Director of ABATE of Wisconsin said to answer that question. Those issues include Right of Way (ROW) violations creating stronger penalties for individuals who cause bodily harm or death for motorcyclists, protecting a person's privacy by defining the ownership of Vehicle Data Recorders, and defining a motorcycle to remove vehicles with steering wheel and gas and brake pedals. When asked how the day went, ABATE of Wisconsin members said they came to be heard by their State Legislators and they were. Their efforts showed the State of Wisconsin Legislators that bikers mean business and their actions proved that today! ABATE (A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments) is a bi-partisan grass roots organization with a goal to give the motorcyclists of Wisconsin a strong, united voice with regard to their future, their way of life, their safety and their legal rights as motorcyclists and citizens.
