By: Net World Sports The company, which supplies a comprehensive range of backstop netting, batting cages, protector screens, ballpark equipment, and baseball practice gear, has compiled power rankings rating the top 10 US states and cities where customers have placed the most orders this year. As the USA's most populated state and home to no less than five MLB ballparks, it's perhaps no surprise that California heads the FORTRESS Baseball Power Rankings: Top 10 States. There have been nearly twice as many orders on its website from baseball fans in the Golden State than there have been from Texas, the second-placed location on the list. The state of New York rounds off the top three, just edging out Florida and Pennsylvania into fourth and fifth respectively. Interestingly New Jersey (10th) is the only state in the top 10 that doesn't currently host an MLB franchise. And it's a California clean sweep with Los Angeles also leading the way in the FORTRESS Baseball Power Rankings: Top 10 Cities. The hometown of the Dodgers just edged out New York, with customers from both LA and NYC making more than twice as many baseball orders in 2017 as the third-placed location on the list, Houston, TX, home of the World Series-competing Astros. Fourth-placed Orlando, FL is the only city on the power ranking that isn't currently home to an MLB team, while just outside the top 10, both Virginia Beach, VA (12th) and Salt Lake City, UT (13th) are other highly-rated cities without a big league team. Chris Owens, Communications Manager for Net World Sports, commented: "With the Los Angeles Dodgers having another awesome season perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised to see LA and California topping our FORTRESS Baseball Power Rankings. Baseball sales on our www.networldsports.com website have been really strong over these last few weeks in particular, with customers keen to recreate the big-hitting home runs and fastball strikes of the MLB play-offs in their own backyards or at their own team's ballpark."
