Follow on Google News | Net World Sports Predicts Silver Surfers Will Snap Up Black Friday BargainsSilver surfers are the most single-minded shoppers keen to bag an online Black Friday bargain, according to analysis from leading sports equipment retailer Net World Sports.
By: Net World Sports Last year, bargain-hungry shoppers splashed £5.8 billion over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend, up from £3.3 billion in 2015. Retail consultancy Salmon suggests a record-breaking £20 billion will be spent online throughout November, while price comparison site GoCompare estimates £3 billion will be spent online and on the high streets on Black Friday alone this year. Ahead of the upcoming extravaganza, Net World Sports compared website traffic and sales from the 2016 Black Friday to Cyber Monday period against an average of four similar timescales from the preceding two months (i.e. the start of a Friday to the end of a Monday) to predict what this year's big sale might have in store. Customers aged 65 and above had by far the best e-commerce conversion rate of any age group across Black Friday to Cyber Monday, and were nearly 63% more likely to buy than compared to the average period, suggesting that decisive silver surfers know exactly what they are looking for and are motivated to make a purchase rather than browse for bargains. The percentage of female visitors to the company's website increased by 42.38% during Black Friday weekend compared to the average, while in terms of pure numbers nearly 69% more women visited the site during the discount-deal period. As the UK's biggest-selling football goal manufacturer, it was no surprise that the most popular Net World Sports products over Black Friday 2016 were its trademark FORZA goalposts. Sales of its 6ft x 4ft model were up 325%, the 8ft x 4ft size increased 247%, 12ft x 6ft mini soccer goal sales were 415% up, while purchases of the 8ft x 6ft model rocketed 547% in contrast to the weekend average. Chris Owens, Communications Manager for Net World Sports, commented: "We're sure bargain-hunting Brits will be keener than ever to grab themselves the best Black Friday discounts and get a head-start on their Christmas shopping. "As well as running great offers throughout the Black Friday to Cyber Monday weekend itself, we'll be kicking off a week of fantastic deals from Monday [20 November] so we'd urge sports-mad shoppers to keep an eye on our website www.networldsports.co.uk/ End
