Net World Sports Scores Finals Spot At Retail Week Awards

WREXHAM, Wales - Nov. 21, 2017 - PRLog -- Net World Sports has been named as a finalist in the 'International Growth Retailer of the Year' category in the annual awards handed out by industry bible Retail Week.

The news comes in the same week that the firm, the UK's biggest-selling football goal manufacturer, heads to Wembley Stadium as a finalist in the 'Best SME – Incorporated for less than 10 years' category of the UK Business Awards, which will be staged on Wednesday 22 November.

Net World Sports, which is based at a 120,000 square foot complex on Wrexham Industrial Estate, secured a spot on the Retail Week Awards shortlist after dazzling judges with its consistently strong export performance. International sales make up more than half of the business's annual revenues and in the last year alone it has supplied quality sports equipment to customers in more than 100 countries, ranging from core markets the United States, Australia, Canada, and Continental Europe, through to Japan, Dubai, and Guam. The fact that the sports equipment company can ship even bulky items such as full-size football goals or baseball batting cages to North America in one day and to Australia in two to three days also impressed the panel.

Net World Sports will go head-to-head against six other finalists including clothing brand ASOS, health food chain Holland and Barrett, and electrical goods specialist AO.com. The firm will find out who claims the top prize at a black-tie gala ceremony held at the glamorous Grosvenor House Hotel in London's Mayfair on Thursday 22 March.

Staged for 23 years, the Retail Week Awards are recognised as one of the UK's most long-standing and well-respected business competitions. Seen as the symbol of excellence for the country's retail sector, winners at last year's ceremony included household names such as John Lewis, JD Sports, Screwfix, and Halfords. The 'International Growth Retailer of the Year' category Net World Sports is going for glory in was claimed in 2017 by lifestyle and fitness company The Hut Group, which is also in the running again this year.
