By: ZirMed In her role as a member of the board, Ewing will join a diverse cross-section of the industry, including payers, providers, government regulators, and other industry vendors, to lead WEDI in its mission to promote the use of health IT in improving healthcare information exchange – enhancing quality of care, improving efficiency and reducing costs. Specifically, Ewing is dedicated to using her position to help drive the adoption of attachment regulations, assess improvements needed to enhance prior authorization processes and increase education and advocacy for the 7030 HIPAA transaction standards. She also holds leadership roles within the Cooperative Exchange, The National Clearinghouse Association, and she is a member of ASC X12 – the committee that writes the standards for electronic data interchange (EDI) transactions, including healthcare claims – and previously served as co-chair of their Entity workgroup.
