Caribbean Cargo DC's Hurricane Relief Drive Motivates Business Owners to Take Action

SILVER SPRING, Md. - Dec. 28, 2017 - PRLog -- This holiday season, Society Lounge presented a check totaling $1,000 from proceeds of the event to Caribbean Cargo DC (CCDC) as  a donation for hurricane relief victims. Samantha Miskiri,  co-owner of Society Lounge, says, "Society takes great pride in giving back. Our success comes from Society: our love for family, friends, and great food!"

Cla$h for a Cau$e was a Caribbean Hurricane Relief Event hosted by Society Lounge in Silver Spring, Maryland on Tuesday October 31st 2017. The event was presented in association with Reggae Tuesdays.

The effort was prompted by the launch of the Hurricane Relief Drive at CCDC -- a shipping company based in Lanham, Maryland. Society Lounge raised the money during the event by offering 10% of proceeds from food and drink sales. The fundraiser's goal was simple --- to help support Caribbean families most affected by Hurricane Maria. Funds raised will cover cost of warehousing at CCDC for goods on their way to the devastated islands.

Through ties to the Caribbean and an ongoing concern for supporting DMV-based community events, CCDC launched its Hurricane Relief Drive to provide international logistics and warehousing provider for Caribbean shipments originating out of the Mid-Atlantic.
