BP Auto Spares India Talks about the Working Life of car Headlights

They perform a very vital function of letting the drivers see what lies ahead when it's dark outside and the vision is restricted. Due to a massive evolution in the car technology, there are varied types of headlight that have been introduced in the market each serving a unique function and lasts up to a predetermined time period.

Moving on he explains," One of the most common types of headlights used in a car is high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps.  These sorts of headlights employ metal halide suspended in xenon gas and they last for approximately 2,000 hours. The highlighting feature of these lamps is the amount of light they produce in relation to the electricity produced. In automobiles, high intensity discharge (HID) lamps produce more light using less electricity which is a major factor that helps in curbing the production of carbon dioxide emissions."

The next in queue is," Light Emitting Diodes (LED), these are relatively new in the headlights market but have seen an application in quite a number of turn signal, brake, tail and accessory lights. Since they are still a newborn child, the life expectancy of these lamps has not been determined by the automakers yet but they are believed to last longer than an HID system." In the end, he explains," Other commonly used headlights are the Halogen ones that are quite conventional and older in style but effective. These headlights use a filament to produce light in the form of a halogen gas and can last up to 450 to 1,000 hours."
